Paying Sara Story compliments probably isn't new to anyone; browsing through her online portfolio it's clear she's used to people saying good things to her. Her spaces are clean and fresh. They're layered and sophisticated. She incorporates lots of neutral tones which are calming, but isn't afraid to throw in some bold splashes of color where they are needed.
She likes to play with textures and patterns, but never in an overwhelming way. Her spaces have interest, but they never take away from the main stars of a room: the people. Her varied style means she's able to take what a client says and translate it perfectly into a beautiful space. She adds to-not takes away-from a space's architecture with her design work.
From her website: "Sara Story's birth in Japan, coupled with extensive travel in the Far East, have influenced her approach to design. Moreover, living in Texas and California further affected her vision of design to result in a contemporary, eclectic and timeless aesthetic for interiors. Sara moved to New York City in 2001, where she worked with prominent designers before creating Sara Story Design to infuse her own vision into the world of interiors."See more gorgeous photos on her website.
